Beekeeping Taster Day 2022
From 10.00am until 2.00pm
At Brooksby Training Apiary, Rearsby
We are holding a beekeeping taster day, in which you will receive an introduction to bees and beekeeping, see and discuss the equipment required to start keeping bees and how to site an apiary. During your time on site, we will lend participants bee suits and gloves, so you can take part in a hive inspection and observe at first-hand the workings of a colony, getting ‘up close and personal’ with the bees.

- 10.00 Bee life cycle
- 11.00 Break
- 11.15 Bee equipment and apiary layout
- 12.15 Lunch (Coffee, tea, and biscuits are provided, but you will need to bring a packed lunch.)
- 12.45 Inspect the bees (Please bring wellington boots or something similar to wear for the colony inspections)

Our Brooksby Training Apiary is located near Rearsby, LE7 4YS
The cost is £30.00 per person. Participants must be over the age of 16. Places on the course will be limited and are on a first come, first served basis.
While we will endeavour to give everyone the chance to see inside a beehive and watch a colony inspection. However, this is entirely dependent on the weather and the hives will not be opened if it is too cold or wet. We regret that no refunds will be available in the event that we cannot open the hives. If you have a known bee sting allergy that requires you to carry an EpiPen we ask that you do not register or attend.
If there are spaces available there will be a sign up box on the right and you will be taken automatically to PayPal for payment. If you would like to be added to our waiting list or if you have any other problems with registration then please email training@lrbka.org
