Who would have thought that cutting-edge research into varroa is being carried out here in Leicestershire? Robert Atterbury, Associate Professor of Microbiology at the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Nottingham, Sutton Bonington Campus, has taught beekeeping to veterinary undergraduates for the last 10 years. Robert has also recently become involved in a research project to control Varroa mites. In this talk he will discuss how he entered this field, his experiences of teaching beekeeping to vets and the findings and future direction of his research.
