Beginner Theory Course, part 4 of 5
From 7.30pm
At online via Zoom
We will be offering a 5-week Theory Course by Zoom, on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm on March 9, 16, 23, 30 and April 20th (the gap is to allow for Easter week and the Association AGM). After that we expect to be able to offer a ‘Meet the Bees’ session at one of our apiaries on Saturday 24 April. Here beginners will be lent a bee suit and experience what it is like when a hive is opened for inspection. This is subject to weather conditions as we will not open hives if it is too cold, wet, or windy, and of course to whatever regulations or guidance is in place at the time. The course is only open to members of LRBKA and costs £30. The course if free of charge for Junior members, though they must be at least 8 years old and accompanied by a responsible adult for the ‘Meet the Bees’ session. The course can be booked through the store on Mojo using this link https://lrbka.org/join-us/
At the time of writing we cannot confirm arrangements for practical training, although we are optimistic that we will be able to offer something for beginners. In recent times we have offered a 12-week (one evening per week) course running from early May to mid-July, at choice of 3 apiaries, and we would like to offer this again or something similar in 2021. When we all know the situation in relation to social mixing and the pandemic we will be better placed to arrange practical training.
