Services

Would you like bees at your event, show or fete? Or a speaker to come and give a presentation to your club or society? Then the Leicestershire and Rutland Bee Keepers Association can help!

Observation Hive

An observation hive is a special kind of beehive with large sides made of glass. Visitors can watch the bees at work in complete safety and with no need for protective clothing. Beekeepers are on hand to point out items of particular interest and answer any questions. Children particularly enjoy trying to find the queen!

If you would like the observation hive at your show or event, then please contact our Secretary by email in the first instance: secretary@lrbka.org

Speakers

Our Association has a group of interesting, inspiring speakers who are happy to come and give talks to schools, clubs and societies. Presentations can be tailored to a particular aspect of beekeeping if required or can simply be a lively, informative introduction to this most fascinating of crafts. If you would like a speaker at your club or society event, then please contact our Secretary by email in the first instance: secretary@lrbka.org

Bee Tent

Our Bee Tent gives members of the public the chance to be guided by an experienced beekeeper around a real hive of honeybees. We have a  specially-constructed tent where they will get to see the queen, worker bees, honey and all the other wonders of the hive.

If you would like the Bee Tent at your show or event, then please contact our Secretary by email in the first instance: secretary@lrbka.org
