Sometimes we have non-beekeeping events or treat a beekeeping subject differently
In addition to beekeeping activities we try and throw in a social flavour to some of our
activities. Every year we hold an apiary crawl where we meet up and travel as a convoy
around 3-5 apiary sites around the counties finishing up at some suitable location with a
drink (usually non-alcoholic) and a nibble.
All these Experts and they still could not find the Queen !
We have also had winter visits to the UK
National Space Centre for web based
meeting introducing the world of cyber beekeeping to our members and recently had a Ghost
Walk around the dark winter streets of Leicester. In the summer months events have ranged
from the every popular apiary crawl to a car rally one year and topical lectures from our
regional bee inspector.
