Rempstone Steam & Country fair

Every year in July we are involved as part of the two day Rempstone Steam & Country fair curiously not held at Rempstone, but just outside the nearby village of Wymswold. This fair has steam traction engines, wild life and beer and is a great day out for all the family. L&RBKA marquee at Rempstone show
Honey display at Rempstone show The organisers kindly supply us with our own marquee which we extend with our bee demonstration tent to allow children and adults alike a 'real' bee keeping experience. We do all the regular bee type things to educate and entertain us and the public. We have observation hives, models, honey for sale and also have a small honey show.
Every one is very friendly and it's great to spend a few nights under canvas enjoying the onsite entertainment into the late evening and into another days public bee keeping. Miniature traction engines, full sized ones as well !
Early design of bee demonstration tent at the Rempstone show

This is a photo from a few years ago where we were experimenting with an early design of bee demonstration tent at the Rempstone show. It was the success and interest shown at this show that encouraged us to build a more substantial design with all it's associated bits and pieces.

Note the bee model on the left hand side.

Derek our association nose and honey show judge, we let him judge so that he does not take part and win most of the prizes.
